Dino & Mari-Lize, Moyo, 24 October 2009

We've been waiting for this one for more than a year now and, finally, Mari-Lize and Dino's wedding day arrived on a mellow day in late October.

Some of our favourite bridal shots were taken before the ceremony at the Beverly Hills hotel in Umhlanga Rocks - lighting was perfect and so was the gorgeous bride!

The ceremony took place on the Moyo Pier, close to the Durban harbour, and the restaurant also hosted the reception in true African-Bohemia style.

A five minute walk from the pier and restaurant though, we discovered some half-demolished buildings that served as the backdrop for the last set of couple shots - seriously considering moving down to Durban just to do all couple shots there :D

Ronél & Edward, Makiti, 25 October 2009

Off of the topic of their wedding, first - Ronél and Edward are good-food-and-wine connoisseurs of note and for the delivery of their photos, they invited us to Wombles in Parkhurst - we're hooked! (This restaurant must have paid their homage to the steak gods because that buttersoftcututwithafork meat is just illegal!)

Their wedding was just as special, though - this was our first at Makiti and we were impressed by the beautifully kept lawns (golf course standard) and great service.
During the ceremony, the couple honoured the tradition of "tying of the knot" (no, it's not just a silly saying) by having a family member tying three coloured cords around their joined hands.
Just when we thought that there wasn't a chance for the rain letting up, the sun came out and turned the day into a golden glow. Couldn't have been happier with the perfect lighting for the couple shots!
We're also adding some of Ronél's bridal session photos.
